In the near future, we foresee AI-driven NPCs with deep, evolving personalities, game worlds that respond intuitively to player decisions, and dynamic multiplayer experiences where every session is unique. Tempest AI is at the forefront of this, ensuring that gaming evolves into something more immersive, personalised, and limitless.

Most importantly, we believe AI will make gaming more inclusive. Players who couldn't find experiences that resonated with them will be able to shape games to their preferences. Why we care and why we decided to back Jack Waken and Tempest AI

His belief in something greater than himself:

Jack grew up on a cattle farm outside a small rural town called Blayney, discovering my passion for games at a very young age when he got a Nintendo DS. By 14, frustrated with his limited game catalog, he decided to teach himself game development.

He fell in love with RPGs but as a solo developer, he hit walls with traditional game engines. They just weren't designed for individual creators with big visions but limited resources. This frustration ultimately drove him to create Tempest AI.

In 2024, he took a leap of faith and dropped out of university to pursue Tempest AI full-time, working as a bartender, pest control specialist, industrial cleaner, and handyman to support himself. At one point, he was six weeks behind on rent, but he kept going because he deeply believes the gaming industry needs to evolve, and he was excited by what he was building. 

He was driven by the vision of makinggame creation accessible to all and enabling truly responsive storytelling that adapts to each player

The Journey Ahead

The team is currently at GDC in San Francsico meeting game creators, developers and investors. In the time since their launch they have added over 10 new creators and thousands of new game players. Folks are loving the chance to get to be the master of their own games.
